How Fire Damage Local Experts Works

Had a fire, smoke damage, a leak or flooding? Call (855) 727-0147 or send the form, and we’ll connect you with an independent restoration company that serves your area.

The referral is free, and you decide whether to hire the company.

What is Fire Damage Local Experts?

Fire Damage Local Experts is a free referral service for property owners in Texas. We connect people with independent local restoration companies through our partner network.

We don’t perform restoration work ourselves. We don’t employ the crews, and we don’t supervise their work.

How does it work?

  1. Tell us what happened. Call or send the form with your ZIP code and a short description of the damage.
  2. We connect you with a local company. Your request goes to an independent restoration company that serves your area.
  3. They inspect and give you a written scope. The company documents the damage and explains the work and price. You decide whether to hire them.

Who are the restoration companies?

They are independent local businesses that receive requests through our partner network. Each company sets its own prices, schedule and contract terms.

Before you sign anything, ask the company about its certifications, insurance and written scope. The questions further down this page help.

How soon will I hear from a company?

Most property owners receive quotes within 24 hours. If water is still coming in or a door or window is open to the weather, say so when you call.

What does it cost me?

The referral costs you nothing. The restoration company quotes its own work.

If your homeowners insurance covers the damage, the company’s estimate usually goes to your adjuster. You still pay your deductible, and your insurer decides what the policy covers.

What happens to my details?

When you call or send the form, we share your details with restoration companies and lead partners so they can contact you about your request. Our Privacy Policy explains this in full.

How getting help works

When you call or send the form, we connect you with an independent restoration company that serves your area. They inspect, document the damage and give you a written scope — you decide whether to hire them.

Questions to ask the company that comes out

  • Which IICRC certifications does the lead technician hold (for example WRT, FSRT, OCT or AMRT)?
  • Do you carry general liability and workers’ comp insurance, and can I see the certificate?
  • Will I get a written scope of work before anything starts?
  • Who will talk with my insurance adjuster, and what will you send them?
  • If mold is involved: what is your TDLR mold remediation license number, and who did the independent mold assessment?

Frequently asked questions

Is Fire Damage Local Experts free to use?

Yes. The referral is free for property owners. You only pay a restoration company if you choose to hire it, and that price is between you and the company.

Do you do the restoration work yourselves?

No. We are a referral service. Independent local restoration companies do the inspection and the work.

Will you handle my insurance claim?

No. Your insurer and adjuster decide what is covered. The restoration company documents the damage and writes an estimate your adjuster can review. For help with a claim problem, the Texas Department of Insurance runs a consumer help line.

Which areas do you cover?

We currently connect property owners in the Brazos Valley, including Bryan, College Station, Navasota and Caldwell, and we are adding more Texas areas.
